PictureHere is the "Big Hurt" butchering my ball. Maybe if I had been the 800th person in line it would have been excusable, but I was 9th in line. All signing calamities aside, he did have a sweet watch.

Frank Thomas has a weak signature to begin with, but here you can see the auto is not good. Slop and broken from signing fast, this signature leaves me feeling very unsatisfied.

Big Hurt, Big Disappointment

This year at the National Convention I only got one player auto. I figured I was in Chicago, so it was the year to get Frank Thomas to sign a baseball. Being an "All Access VIP" I only waited about ten minutes to get his auto, but the whole experience was a little disappointing.

Players in the past take a minute or two to talk to the individual, but Thomas said very little. I tried to engage him in a brief chat by pointing out his sweet watch, but that attempt failed. I barely had time to get a couple of pictures of him signing my ball before he handed it back to me and was on to the next person.

When I looked at the signature on my ball, I was even more dissatisfied.  In the attempt to sign quickly, the pen that he used skipped and left only a partial signature. Lame.
