Box Break: 2018 Topps Archives Snapshots (Topps.com Exclusive)
I absolutely love online exclusives by Topps. So, you can imagine my excitement when I received the Topps email on the release of 2018 Archives Snapshots baseball. At $25 a pack and a guaranteed autograph per pack, I was committed to at least one pack. Quickly I placed my order, and a few days later I received my pack. Here are the results. Base Cards (x10): AS-TM Tyler Mahle RC AS-OA Ozzie Albies RC AS-AV Alex Verdugo RC AS-JC Jose Canseco AS-MP Mike Piazza AS-WB Walker Buehler RC AS-MO Matt Olson AS-RD Rafael Devers RC AS-YM Yadier Molina AS-MF Max Fried RC Parallels (x1): S-MO Matt Olson Black & White Autograph (x1): AS-JTO Joe Torre Overall, I was a bit disenchanted with this product. The cards came in a very attractive box/pack but were themselves plain. I was not a fan of the basic white boarders, and the name plates are just a couple of font sizes away from “micro-printing.” I also dislike B&W parallels, and at one per pack, they come across as a cheap and lifeless parallel option. On the positive side, the player selection is a great mix of current players, rookies, and retired stars. Additionally, the autograph checklist is strong, and I cannot complain about my Joe Torre hit. |
